Defence Bank - Sponsor a Dog

Sponsor a Dog

Dog Sponsorships for Clubs, Groups and Businesses:

It costs $7,500 to train a Dog to the level of Advanced Community Therapy Dog and provide it free of charge to a veteran suffering PTSD. A Sponsorship will fund the rescue an abandoned dog, cover costs while training and help meet the costs of uniting the dog with their new veteran. These costs include rescue fees, boarding, feeding, vet bills, flea and worming treatments, animal transport costs and professional training sessions.

It usually costs over $20,000 to train a therapy dog to this level, but with the help of the inmates at Bathurst Correctional Centre and many volunteers, including one of Australia’s leading Dog Trainers, Steve Austin, we are able to keep these costs to a minimum.  You can help by sponsoring a dog today.

The Administration costs to run The Foundation are met by The Defence Bank to make sure that all sponsorship funds are provided to Defence Community Dogs to save Dogs and Veterans.
